Product Description
Aidear's finned tube heat exchanger product range includes solutions for industrial air heating applications using steam as a thermal energy source.
A steam finned tube heat exchanger transfers heat from steam to a flowing air stream through metal tube walls and extended fin surfaces. This type of equipment can be used where a manufacturing or ventilation process requires heated air supplied from an existing steam system.
Unlike direct-fired air heating equipment, an indirect steam air heater transfers heat across a physical barrier separating the steam circuit from the process air.
The required heat transfer area, tube construction, and connection arrangement depend on steam conditions and the intended air heating duty.
Steam enters the heating circuit and releases thermal energy as it condenses. Heat passes through the tube wall and fins into the surrounding air stream.
As condensation occurs, the resulting condensate must be discharged through a properly designed drainage arrangement.
Available steam pressure, steam quality, and supply stability influence the operating conditions of the exchanger.
Steam traps, pipework, and drainage arrangements must be selected to prevent condensate accumulation and associated operating problems.
Improper drainage or piping arrangements can contribute to water hammer. These risks must be addressed in the overall steam system design.
The extended surface of the finned tubes increases the heat transfer area exposed to the air stream.
An appropriately designed exchanger can use steam as the heating medium in an industrial air supply or process heating arrangement.
Tube and fin materials should be chosen according to temperature, pressure, air quality, and mechanical requirements.
Heat exchanger dimensions, connections, and airflow arrangement should be specified for the intended equipment layout.
Steam-heated air may be used in production environments where controlled process temperatures are required.
Finned tube heat exchangers can be integrated into suitable industrial air handling systems to raise supply-air temperature.
The exchanger may serve as an indirect heat source for air heating equipment used in thermal processing operations.
Suitability depends on the operating temperature, required airflow, heating duty, and system configuration.

No. A steam heat exchanger transfers heat through metal surfaces, while direct-fired heating uses combustion as the direct heating process.
Condensate accumulation can reduce effective heating performance and contribute to water hammer or other operating problems.
No. The permitted pressure and temperature depend on the mechanical design and approved operating limits of the specific exchanger.
For an industrial steam heating project, share the steam conditions, air volume, inlet and required outlet temperatures, installation drawings, and condensate return requirements.
